Research Associate
Texas A&M University Health Science Center is a prestigious institution focused on improving health through education and research. They are seeking a Research Associate in the Public Health Sciences department to design and conduct research projects, prepare publications, and manage research-related financial accounts.
Responsibilities
Utilizes summarized results in scientific and/or clientele-oriented publications
Prepares and writes proposals to funding agencies and maintains financial accounts related to research projects
Designs, plans, conducts and coordinates experiments in support various research projects
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques of routine research, keeping detailed records of data
Installs, operates, and/or repairs research equipment
Assists in planning and coordinating research projects
Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results
Evaluates and summarizes experiment results
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years of related experience in dentistry, research or lab setting
Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment
Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software
Attention to detail
Preferred
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a demonstrated ability to craft persuasive and compelling content
Strong research abilities and the capacity to synthesize complex information into clear and concise written materials
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work that reflects our professionalism and expertise
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and Adobe program suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
Experience with technical writing, proposal development, and grant writing
Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and grant funding mechanisms
History of strong written communications skills, ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive proposals
Previous history of grant writing, publication, and/or successful federal/foundational grant funding
Masters or Doctoral degree
