LifeFamily Church is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee and manage their day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial records and compliance with accounting standards, while also leading the accounting team and improving systems and processes.

Responsibilities

Provide oversight and review of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities performed by the AP/AR Specialist, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls

Supervise and develop the AP/AR Specialist and any additional accounting staff; provide direction, coaching, performance feedback, and workload prioritization

Maintain ultimate responsibility for general ledger integrity, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation

Oversee revenue recognition and ensure proper classification of contributions, tuition, fees, and other revenue streams

Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, coordinating inputs from accounting staff and cross-functional partners

Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and conduct variance analysis

Ensure accounting policies and procedures are documented, consistently applied, and aligned with GAAP and applicable regulations

Evaluate accounting workflows and systems; implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

Serve as the primary accounting contact for audits, financial reviews, and external partners

Provide financial insight and reporting support to finance leadership as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience as an individual contributor

Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting operations

Demonstrated experience with account and bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, balance sheet analysis, revenue recognition, GAAP standards, financial reporting, accounting software and financial systems, and project and process management

Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
