BUSINESS TAXES SPECIALIST I, BOARD OF EQUALIZATION

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is looking for a Business Taxes Specialist I to make a meaningful impact in the community. This role involves performing complex analyses and functions within the Online Services system, requiring knowledge of tax laws and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Independently performing complex, specialized analysis and functions within the Online Services system
Customer registration, return filing, login profiles, and payments for the Centralized Revenue Opportunity System (CROS) Project
Identifying potential problems, solutions, and/or alternatives utilizing CROS Online Services
Providing technical and development guidance
Supporting the coordination to lead complex Online Services project activities and facilitating meetings for CDTFA business programs as well as outside agencies/vendors
Providing advisory services, recommendations, and resolutions regarding Online Services issues to all levels of management within the Department

Required

Knowledge of the tax and fee laws and regulations
Knowledge and understanding of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) organizational functions, policies, and procedures
Analytical skills
Ability to speak and write effectively
Ability to work efficiently to provide advisory services, recommendations, and resolutions regarding Online Services issues to all levels of management within the Department
Ability to identify potential problems, solutions, and/or alternatives utilizing CROS Online Services
Ability to provide technical and development guidance
Ability to support the coordination to lead complex Online Services project activities
Ability to facilitate meetings for CDTFA business programs as well as outside agencies/vendors
Ability to work in a high-rise building and standard office environment
Ability to be in a stationary position for extended periods of time
Ability to use a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone daily
Ability to travel up to five percent (5%) of the time
Must be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background investigation
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
