ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR I (SUPERVISOR)
Caltrans District 3 is part of the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), which serves as California’s health care safety net. The Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) will oversee the Federal Reporting unit, manage staff, and ensure compliance with accounting practices related to Medi-Cal claims.

Responsibilities
Perform as a supervisor over the Federal Reporting: FR: Medi-Cal B – Claims and Reconciliations Unit consisting of Associate Accounting Analysts, an Accountant Trainee and Student Assistant
Have a broad knowledge of the State’s accounting systems and federal reporting requirements
Make sound decisions and recommendations regarding accounting practices and principles as utilized in State Government
Directly involved in staff recruitment, hiring and training
Manage staff responsible for Medicaid Local Assistance & Healthy Families federal claims
Have knowledge of all aspects of accounting for the Medi-Cal Local Assistance program
Work very closely with the Cash Management Unit and the Local Assistance Payable Unit
Qualification
Required
Broad knowledge of the State's accounting systems and federal reporting requirements
Good working knowledge of professional accounting practices and procedures
Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations regarding accounting practices and principles as utilized in State Government
Experience in staff recruitment, hiring and training
Knowledge of all aspects of accounting for the Medi-Cal Local Assistance program
Ability to manage staff responsible for Medicaid Local Assistance & Healthy Families federal claims
Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
Ability to manage multiple and/or changing priorities in a fast paced/deadline driven environment with time sensitive projects
Ability to follow through and ensure deadlines are met
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to understand, follow, and enforce departmental policies and protocol
Completion of the statement of qualifications and the state application
Submission of a current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678
Submission of a resume
