ANALYST III
First 5 California is dedicated to improving the lives of young children, and they are seeking a Legislative Coordinator to support their External and Governmental Affairs Office. The Analyst III will manage various program and policy areas, represent the commission with legislative representatives, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
Under general direction from First 5 of California (F5CA's) Deputy Director (DD) in the External and Governmental Affairs Office (EGAO), the Analyst Ill with a working title of Legislative Coordinator (LC) will be responsible for one or a combination of assigned program and policy areas in Public Education, Childcare, Health Care Delivery Systems, Mental Health, and Substance Use Disorder Services, Employment and Labor, and Social Services
As the LC, will also represent the commission with various legislative representatives on the commission's numerous program and policy areas
This position may require travel
Qualification
Required
The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment
Strong organizational skills
Commitment to quality client service
Working knowledge of various software programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Employment History on the STD 678 (State Application) must be complete and include dates, accurate hours per week, total time worked, duties and responsibilities, and contact names and phone numbers of supervisors
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment
Preferred
Extensive experience in developing, drafting, and editing legislative analyses
Demonstrated strength in analytical and research skills
Knowledge or experience with early education, childhood development, and health and human services policies
Demonstrated ability to think critically
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing
Ability to multi-task between competing priorities simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced environment
