Research Generalist, Associate - Global Investment Office
CHEManager International is seeking a highly motivated Research Generalist to support research, publication, curation, and promotion of proprietary intellectual capital for the Global Investment Office (GIO). The role involves synthesizing research, coordinating business development initiatives, and collaborating on quantitative analysis and data science projects to support GIO investment strategy.
Responsibilities
Synthesizing and curating research from various teams inside GIO, across the firm, and from third-party researchers and asset managers
Coordinating on key business development initiatives to support the creation and dissemination of investment research to financial advisors, clients, and colleagues. This includes significant collaboration with stakeholders across the firm, including those in investment management, research, marketing, and operational roles as well as branch offices
Designing original quantitative and qualitative analysis regarding market/economic/policy phenomena; Drafting regular updates on financial market trends, presentations to internal and external audiences, and short user-friendly explainers. Larger research projects may involve publishing findings in long-form whitepapers
Collaborating on projects involving data science and quantitative modeling techniques, including generative artificial intelligence and machine learning
This role has significant room for growth and additional responsibility over time
Qualification
Required
2+ years work experience
Bachelors degree required
Demonstrated coursework in social sciences and humanities is a strong plus
Demonstrated experience in research methods
Demonstrated excellence in writing and communication skills, preferably for a range of audiences (technical and non-technical)
Basic fluency in mathematics, especially key concepts in statistics and data science
Ability to learn about new topics quickly and independently; to think critically about research and modeling assumptions; and fluency in theoretical and methodological debates across multiple disciplines
MS Office knowledge required, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Preferred
Master's degree/equivalent preferred
Experience related to investing and asset management, especially in the context of US markets
Experience related to econometric or financial analysis, portfolio construction or related fields
Basic knowledge of any programming language
Familiarity with large language models and generative AI; including prompt and context engineering as well as best practices for responsible and ethical application
