Portland Tractor Inc. is a leader in the heavy equipment rebuild industry, and they are seeking an experienced Shop Technician to join their team. The Shop Technician will be responsible for repairing and rebuilding heavy equipment components using various tools and equipment, while ensuring safety and organization in the work area.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical rebuild, reseal, and inspection of heavy duty off-road equipment
Follow safety rules and regulations, as well as established warranty processes
Use rigging equipment and lifting gear to safely transport and remove components
Track parts and complete work order forms
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Communicate with management on assignments and repair needs

Qualification

Required

At least 5 years of prior work experience in heavy equipment repair and rebuild
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow factory processes for repairing and dismantling equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license

Preferred

Experience repairing Caterpillar equipment is a strong asset
Diesel Technology certification is a strong asset
