Responsibilities

Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate. Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass

Maintain a valid California License as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)

Willingness to actively participate in continue education, competency tests, and attends inservice training seminars to update knowledge and skills

Demonstrates knowledge and operation of the Laboratory (LIS) and the Hospital (HIS) computer system. This includes validating, recording and reporting tests results via phone, computer entry, and instrument verification protocol in a timely manner

Performs and records instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control including proficiency testing

Recognizes and prioritizes tasks appropriately. Respond to emergencies, adapt to changing situations and cope with stress in a professional manner
