Staff Development Trainer (Internal Hennepin County applicants only)
NEOGOV, representing Hennepin County, is seeking a Staff Development Trainer to support the Children and Family Services department. The role involves facilitating training for new and existing staff, developing curriculum, and ensuring effective operations within the department.

Responsibilities
Ensure efficient and effective daily operations by providing and facilitating administrative, educational, and supportive services to new staff
Plan, develop, schedule, and deliver in-service training workshops and individual training dictated by a training plan created by the training unit
Work with a team in developing curriculum geared to educating new Social Workers in addition to other Children and Family Services staff
Prepare educational materials such as Power Points, videos, and summaries
Integrate new learning into training as systems change and upgrade
Qualification
Required
One of the following: Master's degree or higher in social work, or a closely related field with emphasis in areas such as social work methods, human growth and behavior, or principles of social welfare
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and 18 semester (27 quarter) credits or more of graduate work in the above areas, and three or more years of full-time equivalent experience as a social worker
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and 18 semester (27 quarter) credits or more of graduate work in the above areas, and one or more years of full-time equivalent experience in child welfare or completion of a Hennepin County internship in child welfare
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and two or more years of full-time equivalent experience in child welfare
A valid driver's license, the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver permit, and daily access to reliable transportation sufficient to transport clients (including children) and to attend meetings throughout Hennepin County
Preferred
Experience developing curriculum
Providing comprehensive social worker case management services with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds
Working with child protection systems
In the training and/or mentorship of staff
Developing care and case plans that meet the needs of and ensure safety and stability for clients and families
Partnering with social workers, departmental staff, collateral resources, and others to develop work agreements and outcome-focused relationships to assist clients/families in achieving their goals
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, including phone skills to obtain accurate data from reports and writing skills to clearly and concisely record the information
Advanced skill in a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Word, SSIS, ECF, and/or comparable programs
Ability to demonstrate excellent judgement and work in a team environment
