Responsibilities
Develop the initial product suite, underwriting appetite and advanced underwriting framework for launch
Build the early broker distribution playbook and go-to-market strategy
Establish carrier capacity and reinsurance architecture (with strong support from the executive team and a reinsurance broker)
Recruit, hire and develop an underwriting team as the MGA scales
Qualification
Required
7–10+ years of Property Underwriting within HOA, Condo, Habitational and/or Community Association segments
Deep relationships with West Coast retail & wholesale brokers (CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA)
Thrives in start-up or 'whiteboard' environments
Strong appreciation for Insurtech, real-time data, and AI-driven risk evaluation
Excellent communicator and natural leader capable of building a team over time
Motivated by risk/reward and excited by meaningful equity ownership
Preferred
Experience designing new insurance products, coverage structures, rate plans and underwriting guidelines
Experience securing capacity, reinsurance, or delegated authority agreements
