Responsibilities

Develop and apply data science and machine learning techniques to materials and engineering datasets
Perform statistical analysis, signal processing, and feature extraction
Build data-driven or hybrid models linking materials composition, processing, and performance
Collaborate closely with experimental researchers by interpreting and leveraging experimental data
Interface with hardware-oriented teams when needed to ensure data quality and relevance
Publish in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to research proposals
Mentor students and contribute to a collaborative research environment

Required

PhD in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant disciplines
Strong programming skills in Python (NumPy, pandas; ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow preferred)
Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, or machine learning
Ability to work with complex, real-world datasets

Preferred

Previous background in experimental research (materials, electrochemistry, or related areas)
Knowledge in hardware, such as experimental instrumentation, sensors, test systems, or data acquisition
Experience with energy-related materials or devices
Familiarity with time-series analysis, degradation modeling, or diagnostics
Experience with large or heterogeneous datasets
Interest in translational or industry-connected research
