Linux Administrator

Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Linux Administrator to design, implement, and maintain Linux-based servers and infrastructure. The role involves ensuring system stability, security, and optimal performance to support business operations.

Information Technology & Services

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and associated software/tools
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability
Implement and manage security protocols and access controls. Apply security patches and updates regularly to protect systems from vulnerabilities
Utilize scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to streamline routine administrative tasks and deploy configurations efficiently
Provide advanced technical support for all Linux-related issues, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software problems
Work closely with development, networking, and other IT teams to deploy applications, integrate new technologies, and manage project lifecycles
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures

Required

Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role in a production environment
In-depth knowledge of various Linux distributions and their underlying components (kernel, file systems, networking)
Proficiency with automation/configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl
Experience with virtualization technologies (Client, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is often required
Solid understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively within a team and explaining technical issues clearly
Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS)) are highly valued
