Responsibilities

Bring their research program to the MaineHealth Institute for Research as a Faculty Scientist III (Full Professor)
Conduct research that is of benefit to patient and community populations, particularly among rural populations
Design, support, and conduct innovative research and evaluations to improve population health
Improve patient-centered outcomes, partner with communities, address health disparities, educate, train & mentor, implement & evaluate evidence-informed interventions, and disseminate findings
Help build the scientific future and direction for MHIR and CIPHR
Secure NIH, PCORI, or other external funding

Doctoral DegreePopulation Health ResearchMentorshipPublications in Peer Reviewed JournalsNational RecognitionTeaching Accomplishments

Required

Doctoral Degree in a relevant discipline required
Four years of experience as a Faculty Scientist I (or Assist Prof) required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Faculty Scientist I role
Doctoral Degree in a relevant biomedicine discipline required
Four years of experience as a Faculty Scientist II (or Assist Prof) required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Faculty Scientist II role

Preferred

First or Senior author publications in major peer reviewed journals
Evidence of beginning of national recognition in selected field as demonstrated by invited presentations at national meetings and invited reviews for major publications
Evidence of significant mentorship and teaching accomplishments and institutional citizenship
Evidence of national and international recognition in selected field as demonstrated by invited presentations at national and international meetings and invited reviews for major biomedical publications
Service on national study sections
Invitations to service or chair program committees for national and international meetings
Election or appointment to leadership positions in national or international professional societies
