Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with income/franchise, sales & use, gross receipts, excise tax, business licenses, and other miscellaneous tax obligations in state and local jurisdictions
Deliver a full range of state and local indirect tax services including tax research, preparation of technical memorandums and exemption certificates, drafting correspondence, and investigating the effect of new or proposed legislation
Prepare and review of state and local indirect tax returns
Assist in conducting nexus studies to determine where a business has a tax obligation based on activities and presence in various states
Contribute to state voluntary disclosure agreement submissions, assisting with the review of tax liabilities and filing requirements
Review and resolve jurisdictional inquiries and notices
State tax audit support
Communicate with clients regarding tax compliance issues
Ensure timely filing of returns in accordance with respected due dates
Qualification
Required
BS in Accounting
CPA license or parts preferred
2-4 years of recent tax experience in public accounting preferred
Exhibiting a strong sense of responsibility and urgency in high-quality work product within established deadlines, with a clear focus on precision and consistency
