They are seeking an experienced freelance 3D Motion Designer responsible for creating high-impact 3D animations and visual narratives that effectively communicate complex technological concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

Create High-Impact 3D Animations : Lead the creation of sophisticated 3D animations and motion graphics for high-profile deep tech client campaigns across websites, social media platforms, and presentations. You'll craft visually stunning content that captures the revolutionary nature of our clients' technologies - from quantum computing breakthroughs to autonomous robotics - making their innovations impossible to ignore

Visual Storytelling & Technical Communication : Develop compelling visual narratives through 3D product demonstrations, explainer videos, and immersive brand experiences. Transform complex technical concepts into accessible and engaging visual stories that resonate with diverse audiences like investors and partners to customers and the general public. Your work will make advanced technologies like AI chips, biotech innovations, and aerospace systems understandable and exciting

Technical Visualization Excellence: Design and animate intricate technical processes, product mechanisms, and scientific concepts with both accuracy and artistry. You'll collaborate with engineers and scientists to ensure technical fidelity while maintaining creative excellence, producing visualizations that are both scientifically accurate and visually captivating for deep tech startups at the forefront of innovation

Creative Leadership & Stakeholder Management : Present creative concepts, iterations, and final deliverables to senior stakeholders and C-level executives with confidence and clarity. You'll articulate design decisions, incorporate feedback efficiently, and guide projects from initial concept through final delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and brand vision

Project Management & Quality Control : Manage multiple complex animation projects simultaneously, maintaining exceptional quality standards while meeting tight deadlines. You'll prioritize tasks effectively, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure every frame meets our high standards for both technical accuracy and creative excellence. Your organizational skills will keep projects on track even when working on diverse technologies across different industries

Innovation & Technical Advancement : Stay at the cutting edge of 3D technologies, rendering techniques, and motion design trends. Continuously explore new tools, workflows, and creative approaches that can elevate our work. You'll experiment with emerging techniques to bring fresh perspectives to how we visualize breakthrough technologies and help our clients stand out in competitive markets

Passion for Deep Tech: You must love deep tech and demonstrate genuine excitement for visualizing cutting-edge technologies

Education & Experience: Your portfolio must showcase sophisticated work that goes beyond technical proficiency to demonstrate strategic thinking and creative problem-solving in visualizing advanced technologies

3D Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in Cinema 4D, Blender, or Maya with the ability to leverage each tool's strengths for different project needs. Advanced knowledge of rendering engines (Octane, Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift) and the technical expertise to optimize render pipelines for both quality and efficiency. You understand the full 3D production pipeline from modeling and texturing to lighting and rendering

Motion Graphics & Compositing: Advanced skills in After Effects for compositing, motion graphics, and post-production workflows. You seamlessly integrate 3D renders with 2D elements, typography, and effects to create polished final deliverables. Experience with node-based compositing (Nuke, Fusion) and color grading workflows is valued

Portfolio Excellence: Strong portfolio showcasing sophisticated 3D animations, technical visualizations, and strategic motion design thinking. Your work should demonstrate the ability to handle complex technical subjects from molecular structures to spacecraft systems with both scientific accuracy and creative flair. We'll look for evidence of your ability to maintain consistent visual quality across diverse project types

Technical Communication Skills: You can take a dense technical whitepaper about quantum algorithms or biotech processes and transform it into an engaging animation that makes the innovation accessible to non-technical audiences while maintaining scientific integrity

Brand Systems & Consistency: Deep understanding of brand consistency and the ability to work within established visual systems while pushing creative boundaries. You'll adapt your style to fit different brand aesthetics while maintaining coherence across all deliverables, ensuring every animation feels on-brand whether it's for a biotech startup or an aerospace company

Leadership & Mentorship: Experience with project management and mentoring junior creative team members. You can break down complex projects into manageable tasks, provide constructive feedback, and elevate the work of others. Your leadership helps maintain quality standards while fostering creative growth within the team

Client Communication Excellence: Strong client communication skills and proven ability to present work to senior stakeholders. You can articulate creative decisions clearly, manage expectations effectively, and navigate feedback from multiple stakeholders including CEOs, CTOs, and marketing teams. Your professionalism and communication skills build client confidence in ambitious creative directions

Technical Curiosity & Innovation: A genuine passion for technology and staying current with industry advances. You're excited to learn about new scientific domains whether it's understanding how fusion reactors work or how CRISPR gene editing functions because that knowledge directly improves your ability to visualize these innovations effectively

Preferred

Bonus Skills: Experience with real-time engines (Unreal Engine, Unity) for interactive experiences is highly valued. Knowledge of procedural animation tools (Houdini), AR/VR development, or programming (Python, JavaScript) for automation and custom tools is a plus. Any experience with scientific visualization, data visualization, or technical illustration will set you apart. We especially value artists who can handle the full creative pipeline, from concept sketches to final delivery
