Section Manager III - Maintenance Procurement
Orange County Transportation Authority is responsible for overseeing transportation projects. The Section Manager III - Maintenance Procurement will lead the drafting and design of roadway projects, ensure detailed construction plans are created, and perform complex calculations related to construction materials.

Responsibilities
Assists in detailing and designing roadway projects in areas such as alignment, right-of-way, grade, super elevation, and pavement
Drafts detailed construction plans pertaining to roadways, bridges, retaining walls, or other transportation structures by hand and/or by computer aided drafting and design (CADD); arranges details and notes on drawings in accordance with divisional procedures; may calculate elevations and dimensions for detailing
Performs complex calculations in areas such as volumes, areas, lengths, and weights of materials used in construction projects
Operates and utilizes a variety of tools and equipment including inking pens, triangles, T-squares, French curves, templates, lettering sets, scales, calculators, and blueprint machines
May lead others in gathering information in the field; performs complex analysis of field data for use in studies
May lead others in analyzing traffic data, drafting traffic maps, and other areas of work, but, not on a permanent assigned basis
Qualification
Required
Education equivalent to completion of ninety quarter hours of course work from an accredited college or university with at least eighteen quarter hours in one or a combination of the following fields: engineering, engineering technology, drafting, or cartography
Experience equivalent to two years of full-time drafting and/or professional civil engineering work
Qualifying experience in drafting, cartography, and/or technical civil engineering assistance or higher level engineering experience including roadway/bridge inspection, survey, or the calculation of volumes and quantities of materials or other related computations for construction projects may substitute for the required education
Additional course work credit received from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, cartography, and/or drafting may substitute for the required experience on a month-for-month basis to a maximum of two years
Clock-hour credit received from an accredited vocational or technical school in drafting may substitute for the required experience on a month-for-month basis to a maximum of one year
