OPERATIONAL STRATEGY MANAGER

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division is the largest industrial employer in Virginia, specializing in the design and construction of U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. The Operational Strategy Manager will lead strategy development to enhance shipbuilding throughput, manage a team of analysts, and collaborate with stakeholders to execute operational initiatives.

Responsibilities

Leading cross-functional teams to develop investment strategies across operations, supply chain, workforce, and infrastructure
Conducting diagnostic analyses to identify constraints and opportunities
Identifying and implementing new technologies and processes to streamline operations
Managing execution of initiatives by partnering with stakeholders across the company
Leading internal teams and coordinating closely with initiative owners to develop and execute value creation plans, roadmaps and business cases
Preparing strategy documents for senior internal and external stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Preferred

Experience in defense, shipbuilding, operations, manufacturing, and/or supply chain
Prior experience in management consulting or internal consulting
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
Strong analytical ability
