City of Mesa is currently seeking a Facilities Equipment Technician I - Plumbing to perform skilled plumbing work in City buildings. The role involves a variety of tasks related to plumbing systems and may include supervising other workers.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled plumbing work in City buildings

Perform a wide variety of skilled tasks in plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures

Exercise lead supervision over semiskilled and unskilled workers

Troubleshooting malfunctions and determining the proper method of repair

Use appropriate safety equipment and procedures in performing assignments

Perform other related duties as required

Qualification

Plumbing experiencePlumbing apprenticeship certificationComputer Managed Maintenance SystemEnergy Management Systems

Required

Successful completion of a plumbing trades apprenticeship program (must provide certification of completion)

Considerable (3 - 5 years) commercial, journey-level plumbing experience

Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver's License by hire or promotion date

Pass a background investigation through the City of Mesa Police Department, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Federal Bureau of Investigation prior to commencing employment

Subject to pre-employment or pre-placement alcohol, drug and/or controlled substance testing as outlined in City policy and procedures
