Responsibilities
Lead ongoing in-depth inventory analysis to continuously identify, develop and execute plans for stone movement. Manage the receipt, processing, inventory and supply of all diamonds ensuring efficiency of processes and accuracy of transactions
Lead the creation, coordination and implementation of operational IT initiatives to increase operational efficiency and reduce risk within processes
Enhance accuracy and efficiencies throughout the diamond and gemstone supply chain to enhance Tiffany & Co.’s competitive position in the industry
Partner with the Global Grading Labs to develop and implement process efficiencies, furthermore enhancing process effectiveness
Identify, evaluate, develop and continuously support all new or existing diamond industry technology and manage the implementation of all pertinent products including but not limited to laser inscription, clarity plotting and proportion-based measuring
Partner with key business partners to create a plan for grading labs to achieve the diamond & gemstone flow needed to support company initiatives (fill rates, FIFO, technical initiatives, etc.)
Provide services to Acquisition team for operational tasks to include PO Writing and PO Maintenance
Oversee Diamond and Gemstone Operations with respect to operational personnel, budget, accuracy and value-added service
Drive staff performance and accountability by setting and communicating clear performance expectations. Optimize utilization of the performance management process, cross training opportunities, maximize staff potential and foster a flexible work environment
Consistently exhibit professional presence and behavior to inspire trust and integrity
Represent the department in dealing with both internal and external business partners. Ensure strategic direction is aligned with key stakeholders and the goals of the business
Identify opportunities and create business case for enhanced inventory control procedures including the implementation of technology to further support our business
Establish inventory control procedures for both in-process and Tiffany Owned merchandise for all operational processes in grading labs (for both operational and technical departments) as well as inventory adjustment and cycle count approval procedures, including the record retention of associated documentation
Manage the accuracy of inventory through a cycle count program aligned with Audit/ Tiffany Compliance procedures
Ensure compliance for Sarbanes-Oxley reporting, audit driven Initiatives, key safety accountabilities and the Business Conduct policy
Understand the overall business in order to provide effective strategies for achievement of goals and objectives
Demonstrate an understanding of the cost/benefit analysis of action plans and their impact to the overall business
Develop and track KPI’s, goals and future project innovations
Manage operational organizational structure to support changing climate and alignment with strategic initiatives
Actively demonstrate safety leadership by maintaining ongoing communication with all leaders and employees to ensure that safety is a key priority across the Pelham diamond operations to improve overall engagement in safety, wellness and environmental initiatives
Ensure that all employees adhere to all company initiatives and policies including but not limited to Business Conduct and Corporate Governance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
10 years managerial experience and employee development
Excellent computer skills, J.D. Edwards, MS Office
Must have creative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to think strategically and independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with leadership
Strong interpersonal skills
Must comply and promote all company policies & procedures regarding safety, confidentiality, security, attendance, dress code
Some travel required
Preferred
Knowledge of Tiffany business practices
Experience with JDE Software
7-10 years' experience in Operations
Stone and process flow experience preferred
