Maintenance Repairer Master
The State of Louisiana is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Repairer Master at LSU Shreveport. This role is responsible for performing advanced maintenance and repair work across multiple trades to ensure campus facilities operate safely and efficiently.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and repairs the campus wide water system including circulation pumps, hot water heaters, toilets, urinals, sinks, water foundations, irrigation systems and drain lines. Troubleshoots and determines the cause of equipment breakdowns and extent of repairs needed
Oversees work assigned to personnel working in the shop maintenance area. Example: Provides guidance, supplies and leadership by setting the pace for assigned projects, in order to meet deadlines
Developing braces or brackets has needed by machining or welding parts that are used for installation of fans, pumps, or other equipment. Example: rebuilding and re-piping a circulation pump that is used for an Olympic size swimming pool
Works with contractual employees such as plumbers or roofers to inspect and approve work provided by contractors. Surveys the work being performed to ensure that sufficient and proper materials are available for completion of work. Examples: Plumbers, Roofers, Glass Installers or Locksmiths
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant
