Mid LevelThe University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in 20th and 21st century African American Literature. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate programs and engage in scholarly research while teaching courses in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities
Contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate programs
Teach in the university's Core Humanities Program
Collaborate with interdisciplinary programs such as Race and Ethnic Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Indigenous Studies, and Global Studies
Engage in scholarly research
Mentor graduate students
Qualification
Required
Candidates must hold a PhD in hand by July 1, 2026
An active and promising research agenda is expected
Experience and promise as an excellent teacher
Successful candidates must have an established research trajectory
Ability to teach courses in 20th and 21st century African American literature
Preferred
A track record of campus programming or community engagement is preferred
Experience developing curriculum
