2026 Summer Library of Congress Intern (Remote)
The Library of Congress is the national library of the United States and is part of the Legislative Branch of the Federal government. They are seeking interns for their seasonal, 10- or 12-week paid internship program to provide undergraduate, graduate students, and recent graduates with experience through applied learning and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities
Interns will be exposed to a broad spectrum of library work: copyright, preservation, reference, access standards, and information management
Interns work with Library staff on mission-critical projects that utilize the interns’ existing skills
Interns are exposed to additional opportunities to expand their skills through special assignments, professional development training and workshops, mentoring, and other enrichment activities
Interns participate in a wide range of projects offered across the Library of Congress that are designed to challenge and strengthen the skills of emerging professionals and fulfill the mission and vision of the Library of Congress
Qualification
Required
MUST be a U.S. Citizen currently enrolled at time of application in a degree-granting program of study at an accredited institution of higher learning (community college, college, university, or tribal college) at the undergraduate level or graduate level
MUST be a U.S. Citizen currently enrolled at time of application in a degree-granting program of study at an accredited institution of higher learning (community college, college, university, or tribal college) at the undergraduate level or graduate level, AND/OR have graduated or will graduate between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025
MUST BE AVAILABLE TO REPORT TO WORK REMOTELY FOR FULL TEN-WEEK PERIOD from June 1 through August 7, 2026. MUST be available to attend mandatory orientation on Monday, June 1, 2026. NO EXCEPTIONS
Must be available to work a full-time schedule, Monday – Friday during the Library's core business hours: 6:30 am – 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time
Appointment/retention is subject to a favorable evaluation of a personnel security/suitability investigation
All projects require basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
MUST be a first-time participant in the Library of Congress Internships Program
MUST be located in the U.S. or its territories for the entire duration of the internship
