Clinical Data Architect

Responsibilities
Developing and designing IT systems and infrastructure architecture to meet organizational needs and goals
Creating detailed diagrams, blueprints, and documentation that outline system components, configurations, and network topology
Ensuring seamless integration of new and existing IT systems and technologies
Assessing and recommending technologies, platforms, and solutions based on business requirements and industry trends
Working closely with stakeholders, including IT teams, management, and vendors, to align IT architecture with business objectives
Architecting solutions within Microsoft Azure Government environments following FedRAMP and federal security requirements
Designing data architecture leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics, Serverless SQL Pools, and Serverless PySpark Pools
Leading development of data transformation, cleansing, and quality pipelines using PySpark Notebooks
Designing orchestration workflows using Synapse Pipelines for end-to-end data movement and processing
Defining storage and metadata strategies using Azure Delta Lake, Parquet file formats, and CSV-based metadata structures
Implementing data testing and validation using Great Expectations and PyTest frameworks
Applying deep understanding of healthcare data standards such as SNOMED, ICD, CPT, LOINC, RXNORM, CVX, and NDC across data models and transformations
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
Experience developing long-term IT strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals
Ability to identify and mitigate risks across IT architecture and infrastructure
Demonstrated technical leadership during solution design, implementation, and troubleshooting
Ensuring the quality, performance, and scalability of IT solutions through rigorous testing and evaluation
Familiarity with Healthcare Domain and Terminology Sets (SNOMED, ICD, CPT, LOINC, RXNORM, CVX, NDC) required
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
Experience with cloud-native data architectures using: Microsoft Azure Government, Azure Synapse Analytics, Serverless SQL & PySpark Pools, PySpark & Python scripting, Parquet, Delta Lake, and metadata-driven file structures, Great Expectations / PyTest for data validation
