Interventional RAD Tech (Casual/PRN)

Responsibilities
Responsible for AIDET interactions and provides accurate preparation instructions to patient/family with the ability to answer pertinent procedural questions
Knowledge of IR imaging protocols, universal protocols, sterile field requirements, radiation safety techniques and a working knowledge of all IR equipment and equipment maintenance requirements
Performing venipuncture as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
Starting and maintaining intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
Ability to access a port as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
Identifying, preparing and/or administering medications as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
Performing cardiovascular interventional procedures as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
Performing noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
Placing, maintaining and removing peripherally inserted central catheters as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
Responsible for patient safety and reporting unsafe practices and/or incidents that occur in the Medical Imaging Department and the IR suite
Responsible for proper identification of all images in the PACS and accurate documentation in the electronic patient record
Provides accurate room preparation and instructions to patient / family according to the procedure and physically prepares patient for examination which includes explaining the imaging procedure and answers pertinent procedural questions
Maintains work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, reports unsafe conditions and incidents to the immediate supervisor and demonstrates safe work habits. Operates hospital computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval/ order entry and completion of study
Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, as attached to the annual performance appraisal document, with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, developmental age or social maturity of the patient
Prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or lawful institutional policy
Responsible for following all ARRT, ASRT, State and Institutional guidelines and policies
Must have the ability to work well with others, acts as a team member. Ability to work independently and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care
Aids in the training of new personnel, students and physicians
Orders and maintains supplies
Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance. Reports unsafe conditions and incidents
Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, must have reliable transportation and must be able to work on an on – call basis
Good Communication skills are required. In addition to accepting feedback, asking questions and active communication with counterparts and all departments
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree required
Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year experience required
Florida State Radiation License required
ARRT registration required
AHA BLS Certification required
Preferred
Advanced certification in Cardio-Vascular is preferred
