Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Review, approve, and reconcile payroll cycles, adjustments, off-cycle payments, and final checks
Maintain payroll records, wage garnishments, tax withholdings, deductions, and direct deposit setups
Oversee payroll system updates, audits, and configuration changes to improve efficiency
Partner with HR and Finance on employee onboarding, compensation updates, and policy application
Ensure federal, state, and local regulatory compliance, including wage/hour laws and tax reporting requirements
Prepare and review payroll reports for auditing, budgeting, and leadership review
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally
Train, mentor, and support payroll staff in daily operations and best practices
Collaborate on cross-functional projects involving system integrations, process improvements, and year-end activities
Qualification
Required
Experience in payroll processing, payroll compliance, and multi-state regulations
Supervisory or team-lead experience in payroll or accounting operations
Strong understanding of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom, UKG, Ceridian, etc.)
Proficiency in Excel and standard payroll reporting tools
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and lead in a fast-paced environment
