Intern – Southeast Asia (Spring 2026)
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. The Southeast Asia Program is seeking paid research interns who are highly motivated and detail-oriented to assist with research projects and contribute to various program activities.

Responsibilities
Assisting with ad hoc and long-term research projects and organizing relevant information for the program’s various ongoing projects
Tracking current events related to Southeast Asia’s current political and economic landscape
Contributing to the program’s social media presence
Contributing to the production of the program’s podcast, Southeast Asia Radio
Compiling the program’s internal and external newsletters
Providing support at meetings, workshops, panels, and other events
Qualification
Required
Must be at least a college junior in good standing or a recent graduate
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from an accredited U.S. institution or equivalent from a non-U.S. institution
Demonstrate strong writing and research skills, and attention to detail
Microsoft Office proficiency
Must be able to work in the United States
Have a positive attitude, outstanding communication/interpersonal skills, and ability to work with a team under tight deadlines
Preferred
Editing experience preferred
Familiarity with social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and Canva preferred
Written fluency in a Southeast Asian language a plus
