ELECTRIC GENERATION SYSTEM SPECIALIST I
The California Energy Commission is the state's primary energy policy and planning agency, leading California towards a 100% clean energy future. They are seeking an Electric Generation System Specialist I to perform complex technical and analytical work related to energy cost frameworks and consumption data, contributing to energy demand forecasts and informing state energy policy.

Responsibilities
Independently performs varied, complex, technical, and analytical work on energy cost frameworks, historical energy use, end-use surveys, energy consumption and economic and demographic data sets
Lead development of an interagency coordination for the AB 3264 framework to assess, track, and analyze total annual energy costs paid by residential households in California
Conduct analyses and develop insights into energy demand (including electricity demand) and energy costs for households in the state
Use the results to inform broader strategies to achieve statewide goals to reduce GHG emissions, while promoting adequacy of electricity generation system needs and public health and safety
Identify possible electrical generation system needs, impacts, and opportunities that are in alignment with California’s clean energy goals
Qualification
Preferred
Experience developing frameworks for assessing, tracking, and analyzing public policies
Experience working with energy policy
Experience conducting robust data analyses
Experience coordinating and collaborating with state, federal, and local stakeholders
