They are seeking a Senior QC Mortgage Underwriter responsible for re-underwriting residential mortgage loans and conducting audits to ensure compliance with guidelines and identify deficiencies that may affect loan salability.

Responsibilities

You will capture the required loan data to allow MORTGAGE CONNECT RISK SOLUTIONS proprietary review systems to make calculations and assist in the underwriting process

Development of a QC loan summary (final product back to client) with emphasis on clear explanation of problems, and brevity

Categorization of review issues into pre-defined defect matrix based on severity, and effect upon loan salability

Reviews would contain both pre-closing and post-closing reviews

Required

High School Diploma/GED is required

Extensive knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending guidelines

Working knowledge of Alt A, Jumbo, Subprime, Proprietary Products, QM and non-QM lending

Familiarity with FHA and VA, and USDA loan products

Required to perform a desk review of the loan appraisal (or other valuation decision)

Document Recognition, and knowledge of income, asset, and credit documents

Strong attention to detail, and precision of data entry

Ability to concisely explain loan defects in professional, narrative form

Ability to multitask and navigate several programs and applications

Ability to navigate an imaged loan file, without reliance upon hard copies of docs (paper)

Expected to work independently to organize workflow and priorities

Communication skills are essential. Strong oral and written communication skills are required

Must adhere to strict confidentiality and security policies to protect Non-Public Information

Preferred

A minimum of five years in the mortgage industry is preferred with priority given to those with backgrounds in Underwriting, Third Party Review Due Diligence or QC/QA related functions

Some college preferred

Preference given to those with bachelor's degree in finance or banking
