Responsibilities

Work in parallel with design engineering, quality engineering, supply chain organizations, and production operations
Create 3D manufacturing simulations to drive efficiency throughout the build of our product, perform clash detections, and sequence assembly tasks for the lifecycle of the program
Review critical designs and provide design for manufacturability feedback of all 3D engineering models to reduce cost and positively impact performance at suppliers across the country
Design factory product and process flows using 6S methodologies to optimize production operations activities
Create Manufacturing Engineering Statement of Work contractual requirements
Collaborate and contribute on the design of DA tooling
Drive collaboration and discussions around producibility and design for cost
Own Capital Planning forecast for the assigned effort

Required

Bachelor's degree
Direct Experience with Production Operations and/or Engineering and/or Production Engineering
Experience in Aerospace/Space sector
Active DoD Clearance with an Investigation within the last 5 years AND the ability to obtain and maintain special program access per business requirements
3D Modeling experience in 3DX / CATIA V5/V6/ SolidWorks or other model based software

Preferred

3+ plus years' experience
STEM Degree
Aerospace Structures, Systems or Electrical experience, design preferred
Experience defining and reviewing facilities requirements for production operations
Experience defining and reviewing tooling concepts
Experience with Interchangeable / Replaceable requirements
Experience with program start-ups with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes
Composites manufacturing experience
Project management experience
Atlassian Confluence and JIRA experience
Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action, and FMEA
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment or independently to solve problems in a timely manner
Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications, manufacturing planning, and developing work instructions
Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical people
Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop workaround plans or corrective action plans
Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and principles
