They are seeking a Legal/Policy Subject-Matter Expert to provide specialized knowledge in law and policy related to online harms, analyzing legal documents and ensuring compliance with relevant laws.

Analyzing, preparing, and advising on legal documents
Offering expertise on legal and policy issues involving civil-rights, digital-rights, and free-expression norms
Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Qualification
Required
Expertise in Law, Legal Consulting, and Legal Document Preparation
Strong understanding of Legal Issues, particularly related to Civil Rights and Online Harms
Experience with digital-rights, hate-speech, or platform content-governance frameworks (e.g., trust & safety, policy, or impact litigation)
Demonstrated ability to assess legal/reputational risk in tech or data products and write clear 3–6 page policy/legal memos
Comfort operating in an advisory capacity (not as general counsel) and distinguishing between protected, concerning, and high-risk online expression
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, for delivering clear and actionable insights
Ability to work independently in a remote capacity and meet project deadlines
Preferred
Familiarity with policy research and analysis is a plus
Advanced degree in Law or a related field is preferred
