Research Associate III
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Responsibilities
Performs complex data analysis and interpretation, verifies and corrects data entry
Performs complex laboratory tests, determinations, and analyses involving multiple procedures and a variety of technical approaches
Develops methods and procedures for experiments and investigations
Writes and assists with experimental results for publication in technical and peer-reviewed journals
Analyzes and prepares reagent and/or assay product documentation. Organizes and procures needed reagents, performs experiments, analyzes data, and documents results
Documents current or new procedures or protocols for sample selection, data collection, data processing, and/or statistical estimation
Mentors, reviews, and supervises junior laboratory staff in the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree plus three (3) years' experience or a Bachelor's degree plus ten (10) years' full time research experience in related field
Knowledge of extremely complex laboratory procedures
Ability to meet deadlines of projects
Good communication and analytical skills
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance, including background check and drug screening
All staff required to enter the labs shall maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation); or equivalent
Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs
Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods
