Lab Technician II

The Lab Technician II supports engineering and manufacturing operations by performing hands-on assembly, testing, and maintenance in accordance with established procedures, emphasizing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Perform standardized hardware and software testing using approved test procedures
Assemble prototypes, test fixtures, and subassemblies under engineering direction
Apply skill set to perform electrical testing on electronic harness and PWA assemblies using specialized test equipment such as cable testing equipment and flying probe testers
Configure test environments and equipment to assure reliable, repeatable, and accurate test results
Assist in troubleshooting and evaluation of test results and the documentation thereof
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, soldering equipment, and hand tools
Accurately document test data, work results, and configuration information in accordance with company standards
Support inventory tracking and calibration status of assigned laboratory equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-controlled work area
Collaborate with engineering personnel to troubleshoot assemblies and report findings
Provide informal guidance to Level I Technicians without supervisory authority
Work directly with team members to develop and refine production procedures for first-time builds and rapid hardware iterations
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED (required)
Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, military electronics training, or equivalent technical training
Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience in laboratory or electronics assembly environments
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions
Proficiency in basic electronics troubleshooting, soldering, and common test equipment usage
U.S. Citizenship (required under ITAR/EAR)
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Compliance with all workplace safety and quality standards (ITAR, OSHA, AS9100, IPC)
Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
Excellent hand-eye coordination for handling tiny components and the ability to distinguish colors for complex wire coding
Periods of standing, sitting, and repetitive motion
Compliance with PPE requirements
