Initiate interdisciplinary research collaborations with colleagues in other groups on campus
Teach a range of geospatial courses at undergraduate and graduate levels
Create new courses in GeoAI/Spatial Data Science
Supervise teaching assistants
Serve on thesis committees
Advise graduate-level research
Actively participate in department colloquia and other programming
Qualification
Required
A PhD in Geography or Geographic Information Science conferred by August 17, 2026
Demonstrated record of conducting research in GeoAI/Spatial Data Science (e.g., thesis, dissertation, peer-reviewed publication, research assistant role)
Preferred
Experience teaching GIS, remote sensing, or digital earth courses
Experience with collaborative, externally funded research
Ability to mentor/advise graduate research
