IT Security Technician 26-025
Charleston Water System is seeking an IT Security Technician responsible for maintaining the security of computer systems and technologies. The role involves configuring security for hardware and software, troubleshooting security issues, and updating malware protection devices.

Responsibilities
Manage security technical support cases through phone, email, or personal interaction
Assist staff with hardware security repair or replacement
Assist users in troubleshooting common computer security issues or concerns
Install and update company security software and hardware as needed
Make recommendations to improve security of computer systems
Provide documentation for security support inquiries and resolutions
Upgrade and manage security systems to ensure they are operating effectively and efficiently
Maintain up to date security inventory information for all computing devices
Assist with creation and maintenance of security/process/SOI documentation
Perform forensic evaluations in cases of breach or other security issues
Assist IT Security Manager in monitoring all aspects of the company cyber security
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to work independently
Repetitive motions - substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
Ability to lift 50 pounds and push wheel cart weighing over 150 lbs. Objects greater than 50 pounds requires a two-person operation
Ability to maneuver in various complex positions under desks, etc. for equipment installations
Ability to ascend and descend stairs and easily maneuver between buildings at the plants
Ability to operate personal computer including keyboard and mouse
Ability to visually read computer monitor
Ability to convey detailed information to co-workers and customers accurately and quickly
Good oral, listening, and written communication skills
Ability to operate and maintain motor vehicles
Associate Degree in a computer related field and two (2) years' experience working with security applications in the MS enterprise environment OR five (5) years' experience working with MS products in an enterprise environment
Extensive knowledge of current Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft 365 security applications
Extensive knowledge of current endpoint security products and how to diagnose security related issues
Working knowledge of Microsoft network environment
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other divisions
Prior work record indicating dependability and conscientiousness
Valid South Carolina Driver's License required
Preferred
OSHA and Departmental safety training as required
Skills Based Training
Standard Operating Instruction (SOI) per department requirements
ISO 14001 standards for department and company
