Odyssey Information Services is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize scalable ELT pipelines and lakehouse architectures. This role focuses on end-to-end data patterns, performance, and reliability across ingestion, transformation, modeling, and analytics delivery.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain bronze/silver/gold ELT pipelines

Implement CDC, incremental loads, merge/upsert, idempotent patterns

Design physical data models including partitioning and clustering

Build curated datasets and data marts for analytics and BI

Implement data quality, observability, lineage, and SLAs

Optimize performance on cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake)

Manage Lakehouse table formats (Iceberg / Delta)

Mentor engineers and contribute to standards and design reviews

Qualification

Required

7–10+ years data or data-focused software engineering experience

Expert SQL and strong Python skills

Hands-on with Airflow/Astronomer, Git, and CI/CD

Strong understanding of ELT, dimensional modeling, and SCDs

Proven experience with partition key design on cloud/MMP platforms

Experience with data quality frameworks and operational monitoring

Preferred

Snowflake optimization experience

dbt or similar transformation tools

Streaming or API integrations (Kafka/Kinesis)

IoT, time-series, or industrial data experience
