Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and reviewing loan files for underwriting submission
Run and interpret DU and LP findings
Calculate borrower income (W-2, self-employed, rental, etc.)
Review and analyze asset and bank statements
Identify red flags or missing documentation
Communicate clearly with processors and loan officers to gather required conditions
Update file notes and maintain data integrity in Encompass
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience as a mortgage underwriter, MLO assistant, or processor with direct income/asset review duties
Proficient with Encompass Loan Origination System
Strong working knowledge of DU/LP, FHA/Conventional guidelines, and mortgage documentation
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup
Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
Availability to work Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM ET
Preferred
Previous experience working remotely for a U.S. mortgage company
Knowledge of U.S. mortgage compliance and documentation standards
