Principal Accountant
CordenPharma is a leading full-service Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) specializing in active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products. The Principal Accountant is responsible for site-level financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with IFRS, while partnering with Finance teams to maintain financial integrity and audit readiness.

Responsibilities
Capture, review, and accurately record financial transactions for the site
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, in accordance with IFRS
Oversee payroll accounting, including reconciliation of hours paid versus hours worked across all departments, supporting labor and cost transparency
Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, including review of journal entries, accruals, and submission to the consolidation tool
Oversee timely and accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
Assist the Finance Controller with preparation and validation of inputs for the liquidity forecast
Perform monthly balance sheet reviews with a strong focus on Net Working Capital movements, identifying trends, risks, and anomalies
Proactively highlight potential balance sheet risks and Working Capital impacts to the Finance Controller, with clear explanations and recommended actions
Coordinate and support internal and external financial audits
Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations and company accounting policies
Maintain strong documentation and audit trails to support financial statements and key accounting judgments
Ensure adherence to internal control standards within the accounting function
Provides guidance and leadership where appropriate
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Five years of progressive experience in core accounting, including demonstrated ownership of month-end close and internal control processes in a manufacturing organization
Experience leveraging SAP ERP and consolidation tools to support financial reporting and month-end close processes
Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, global environment
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Understanding of accounting principles as they apply to organization and business matters
Understanding the basics of manufacturing and key business processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to do ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations as requested
Hands-on experience with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Mainframe System (i.e., SAP, JD Edward, Oracle)
PC skills are required, including extensive spreadsheet knowledge, Microsoft Office experience, and specifically Excel, Power Point, and Word
Ability to work independently and as a team member
