Responsibilities
Operate Reservoir’s R&D program
Represent Reservoir’s R&D programs to external parties
Onboard new startups for the Reservoir R&D function
Represent Reservoir’s R&D program and capabilities to potential resident startups
Coordinate frequent in-field meetings and events
Provide technical support for Reservoir’s prototyping shops
Spend time in the field and shop with resident startups
Be lead author on professional written reports we provide resident startups (Readiness Assessments and Validation Report)
Coordinate technical consultations between startups and experts
Design in-field validation trials to test startup claims
Execute validation trials (project management, data collection, data analysis, report authorship)
Coordinate research activities with grower partners and startups
Other duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Experience with robotics and automation technology in development and commercial agricultural environments
Bachelor's or Master's in relevant field (agronomy, crop science, pathology, entomology, plant breeding)
Understanding of commercial farming of fruit and vegetable crops
Competency in agricultural experimental design and applied statistics
Experience collecting, storing, and analyzing agricultural field data
Project management
Public speaking
Science communication
California driver's license
Availability for frequent overnight travel
