Accounts Receivable Credit Manager

The Credit and Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for managing customer credit risk and ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables while maintaining optimal cash flow to support sales growth objectives.

Responsibilities
Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers through financial analysis, credit reports, and trade references
Establish and enforce credit policies and procedures that balance risk mitigation with business growth objectives
Oversee day-to-day AR operations including invoice processing, payment application, and account reconciliation
Coordinate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries
Prepare and distribute AR aging reports, collection forecasts, and bad debt analyses to senior management
Monitor cash flow related to receivables and provide regular forecasts to finance leadership
Reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) through effective collection strategies and process improvements
Manage bad debt reserves and recommend accounts for write-off when appropriate
Supervise and mentor AR staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
Conduct regular team meetings to review metrics, address challenges, and share best practices
Partner with sales team to address customer payment issues while preserving customer relationships
Work with operations and logistics to manage holds on shipments for credit-related issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
5-7 years of progressive experience in credit and accounts receivable, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role
Preferred
Manufacturing or distribution industry experience strongly preferred
