Data Infrastructure Sales Engineer
Altinity, Inc. is looking to hire a Data Infrastructure Sales Engineer who is customer-focused and results-driven. The role involves helping teams build innovative real-time analytics applications based on ClickHouse, conducting technical discovery calls, and supporting the sales team during the customer trial process.
Responsibilities
Conduct technical discovery calls, assess existing systems, and offer design guidance for developing efficient, high-performance analytical applications based on ClickHouse and Altinity.Cloud
Support sales team during the customer trial process: demos, proofs-of-concept, and solution prototyping including table design, data ingestion, and query optimization on ClickHouse databases
Manage technical facets on-boarding new Altinity.Cloud and Enterprise Support customers, including engagement of support engineers for long-term technical account management
Accelerate customer deployments by solving technical issues on the spot wherever possible and quickly bringing in support & engineering to solve the rest
Manage communications between the customer and various internal Altinity Teams
Manage and prioritize multiple, parallel sales engagements with touch points in Engineering, Support, and Sales Administration
Engage new and existing accounts to identify and build relationships with decision makers
Prioritize customer needs and coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams to help customers be successful with ClickHouse and our Managed Database offering (Altinity.Cloud)
Create technical documentation for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements
Qualification
Required
5+ years experience in database engineer / systems architect / sales engineer roles on real-time analytics and decision support systems
Deep background in database technology and application architectures, with ClickHouse strongly preferred
Ability to operate effectively at code level and guide others in SQL table design, database performance optimization, real-time event stream configuration, and API/UI design patterns
Solid understanding of Kubernetes and hands-on experience with application deployment in cloud environments
Direct experience with system administration and devops tools for application deployment
Successful customer-facing technical sales experience, including ability to work with customers with minimal supervision
Outstanding communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions with product managers, engineers, and executives
Experience in managing B2B relations with a track record of steadily increasing responsibility in sales or customer growth
Able to travel for business when necessary, focusing on North America (visa/US citizenship required)
Demonstrated ability to absorb new technologies quickly
Preferred
Experience with agentic development tools like Claude Code is a major plus
