Responsibilities
Provide direct and specialized nursing care to patients in Labor and Delivery, including intrapartum, antepartum, and postpartum care
Assist in managing laboring patients and coordinate care during labor, delivery, and recovery
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring equipment
Serve as a patient advocate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Ensure safe delivery practices and assist in surgical procedures in the L&D OR, including C-sections
Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner according to hospital standards
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Active California RN License
Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – American Heart Association (AHA)
Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification – American Academy of Pediatrics
Active ACLS – American Heart Association
Completed AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a hospital acute care setting as of August 9, 2024
Minimum 1 year of independent (non-training) RN experience in Labor & Delivery – Intrapartum, Antepartum, and L&D OR
Preferred
National Certification in area of specialty (e.g., Inpatient Obstetric Nursing, RNC-OB)
Strong communication, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills
Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
