Bay Path University is seeking a Program Director for MBA + Certifications, Quality Systems & Improvement Management Graduate and Doctoral Business Programs. Responsibilities
Lead the articulation and pursuit of program, department, and University goals
Lead faculty and adjuncts in articulating the vision and maintaining a high-quality learning environment
Lead integration initiatives between Cambridge College and Bay Path University to strengthen program alignment, enhance student learning and retention, and promote clear communication and effective collaboration
Interpret School of Management and Technology and University policies and translate them into action
Initiate regular review of departmental goals aligned with School and University priorities
Develop and maintain relationships with other academic units to leverage collaboration and innovation
Lead the department in fulfilling the core values of Learners Come First, Innovation and Excellence
Maintain close industry contacts to ensure program relevancy, credential alignment, and employer engagement
Remain active in research and scholarship
Maintain on-campus office hours according to University policy
Lead department and participate in faculty, school, and University meetings
Support admissions in recruitment activities
Maintain an active campus presence including major University events
Stay current with best practices in teaching and learning
Understand and apply assessment strategies linked to learning outcomes
Support the University mission and goals and uphold faculty responsibilities
Lead Program Advisory Boards to foster industry engagement and identify new opportunities
Manage special projects assigned by the Associate Dean of SMT
Management and oversight of all courses, faculty, assessment, and faculty evaluation for: MBA + Certification(s) Program, MS in Quality Systems & Improvement Management, DBA in Quality Systems & Improvement Management
Ensure all courses are appropriately staffed with qualified instructors each term
Align program goals with departmental and University goals
Lead work in course economics and portfolio optimization
Establish and maintain a strategic vision for the department aligned with University priorities
Serve as a liaison between the department and other University units
Oversee course modalities including on-campus, online, and hybrid to support optimal instructional design, engagement, and retention
Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and consensus-building skills
Engage in high-quality online instruction as required
Cultivate student excitement for business fields and career advancement
Maintain a collegial, growth-oriented environment
Lead development of new programs based on industry research and consultation
Coordinate with marketing for program positioning and visibility
Manage curriculum development, course creation and revision, instruction, and assessment
Hire and manage subject matter experts (SMEs) for online course development
Provide leadership in outcomes-based curriculum design reflecting industry needs and trends
Review and assess academic programs for alignment with goals
Assess general education outcomes in program core courses
Initiate new academic programs focused on growth, retention, and student career outcomes
Provide academic and career mentorship
Respond to student academic needs
Recruit and retain students
Coordinate advising and review degree progress
Review student academic appeals and grievances
Apply active, transformative learning strategies
Support the University's mission of women’s and co-ed education
Assist with dissertation course registration and communication
Serve as liaison for dissertation-related student and faculty questions
Review dissertation support courses in Canvas
Track student registration and communication
Schedule and contract DBA chairs and committee members
Track dissertation progress and ensure reporting and grading requirements are met
Recruit and hire industry-experienced adjuncts and faculty
Coordinate adjunct contracts and payment processes
Mentor faculty and maintain curriculum continuity
Support faculty development in both subject content and pedagogy
Respond to faculty academic needs
Conduct annual performance evaluations
Manage course schedules to meet program and student needs
Manage course registrations, instructor assignments, and staffing
Oversee program fiscal operations and monitor budgets
Maintain and update University catalog information for assigned programs
Participate in academic governance, recruitment, and orientation activities
Teach minimum 6 course(s) / 18 credits each calendar year with 2 courses /6 credits release for administrative duties
Serve on at least one University committee
Participate in University and community service activities
Attend required training
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Travel across the state as required
Qualification
Required
Terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Management, Business Administration, or related field
Proven leader in quality systems, continuous improvement, and project management
Expertise in QMS design, implementation, assessment, and optimization
Strong systems thinker skilled at navigating complex organizational environments
Data-driven decision-maker using analytics, metrics, and performance dashboards
Effective change agent experienced in organizational transformation
Collaborative leader of cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams
Strategic planner with experience aligning quality improvement to institutional goals
Experienced in graduate and doctoral education, program leadership, and diverse learners
Budget-savvy leader with a growth and partnership development mindset
Champion of workforce development, experiential learning, and real-world application
Proven leadership and supervisory experience required
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the University community including students, faculty, staff, and administrators
Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines
All new employees must complete the FERPA, Anti-Harassment, and any other required online trainings within 15 days of employment
General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals
