Defined Contribution Benefits Specialist III
Southern California Pipe Trades Administrative Corporation is seeking a Benefits Specialist for their Retirement Funds Department. The Defined Contribution Benefits Specialist will assist with the administration of various Defined Contribution Plans and handle participant inquiries and distributions.

Responsibilities
Process election and withdrawal forms relating to the Defined Contribution Plans
Research and resolve distribution and payouts for missing participants
Research, resolve, and process annual small balance distributions
Research and prepare 401(k) refunds for employers and participants
Review and research employer and participant notices for 401(k) overages and shortages
Review participant accounts with Plan recordkeeper for resequencing
Answer participant questions (both written and verbal) regarding eligibility, contributions, benefits, and enrollment
Handle IRS reporting requirements, including 1099-R reporting
Resolve issues arising from overpayments and underpayments by employers and the administration of the auto-enrollment feature of Plan, including issues arising from late reporting of contributions
Other responsibilities as assigned by Management
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree
3+ years of experience in defined contribution fund recordkeeping and/or administration
Organizational, prioritization, time management, customer service, mathematical, analytical, problem solving, etc
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis in Excel
Knowledge of Taft-Hartley employee benefits plans
Preferred
Certification preferred (NIPA, ASPPA or CEBS)
