Records Clerk III

The National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives is seeking a Records Clerk III to perform a variety of routine clerical duties in support of the medical transcription function. The role involves sorting and distributing transcribed reports, gathering missing data, and maintaining the overall central dictation system.

Responsibilities

Sorts and distributes transcribed reports
Gathers missing identification data and types missing data into the transcribed reports
Flags reports for physicians attention of lacking all information
Follows up on problem dictation for completion and/or redirection
Assists in the operation of the overall central dictation system by locating missing dictation, re-recording dictated information, maintaining tapes, and alerting appropriate party of urgent needed reports
Responds to inquiries regarding dictated reports
Delivers reports to nursing unit
Answers department telephone
Orders and maintains department supplies
Maintains properly working equipment and reports problems to Department Administrator
Monitors timeliness of Admission H&Ps
Monitors timeliness of Operative Reports
Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations w/ the public, patients, and other personnel
Performs other related duties
Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent w/ the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service
