Flood Control Project Engineer
Environmental Allies, Inc. is seeking a Flood Control Project Engineer to plan, design, and support delivery of flood mitigation and stormwater drainage infrastructure. This role involves hydrology/hydraulics analysis, civil design, regulatory compliance, and project coordination for various clients.

Responsibilities
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and analysis for stormwater and flood control projects using software like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XP-SWMM, PCSWMM, ICM, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D
Prepare preliminary and detailed design plans , technical specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and construction documents
Support development of stormwater management plans, flood impact analyses, and drainage reports
Lead or support project phases from concept through construction and closeout
Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies for permitting and approvals
Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders on project scope, schedule, and budget
Ensure designs comply with local (City of Houston), county, state, and federal criteria , including FEMA and National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) standards
Prepare documentation for regulatory submittals, environmental reviews, and permits
Provide engineering support during construction: review shop drawings, evaluate change orders, and conduct site visits to verify compliance with plans and specifications
Qualification
Required

Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience in flood control, stormwater design, drainage engineering, or water resources
Proficiency with H&H modeling tools and civil design software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with stormwater infrastructure design, FEMA floodplain study processes, and regulatory compliance
