Responsibilities

Manage and mentor staff
Identify and assess design risks, authorised as the Product Risk Acceptor for LOW risks
Ensure that design engineering work is done to defined quality standards, including effective information and configuration management
Develop and review engineering work with standards agreed with Chief Engineer

Required

Over 10 years' experience within mechanical design or in similar role
Over 3 years' experience leading teams and/or managing stakeholders
Extensive knowledge of design, Australian Standards, ASME codes

Preferred

Familiarity with Defence regulatory frameworks and associated processes is desirable
Experience in design tools like 3D modelling, Ansys will be added advantage
Eligible for charted status and registration in the ACT
