Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure alignment and clear communication
Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams
Document and clarify requirements, system issues, and process changes
Use SQL queries to analyze data, diagnose system issues, and identify trends
Apply deep knowledge of mortgage banking processes — including underwriting, processing, closing/funding, and the secondary mortgage market — to provide context for technology solutions
Support Agile project delivery by participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups
Facilitate effective communication through concise business writing and visual presentations
Provide guidance and support to stakeholders with varying technical knowledge, translating complex concepts into clear explanations
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of mortgage banking industry, including underwriting, processing, closing/funding, and secondary market processes
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and issue diagnosis
Experience working in Agile project environments
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) and SharePoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders in sensitive situations while maintaining strong relationships
Demonstrated ability to act as a bridge between business needs and technology solutions
Preferred
Experience in Quality Control (QC) underwriting or similar mortgage banking functions
Understanding of mortgage banking data, including Loan-to-Value (LTV), Debt-to-Income (DTI) ratios, liabilities, income, and assets
Familiarity with mortgage repurchase/remedy processes
