$18/hr - $18/hrCity of San Angelo is currently seeking a part-time Bunker Gear Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining SAFD firefighting gear to NFPA 1851 standards, including conducting inspections and cleaning gear as needed.
Responsibilities
Conduct annual inspection of all SAFD Structural Firefighting Gear
Clean and decontaminate Structural Firefighting Gear as needed
Track and maintain history of all SAFD Personal Protective Clothing
Hours: Less than 30 hours per week
Regular and timely attendance is required
Qualification
Required
Ability to prioritize work schedule
Must possess excellent communication skills
Some mechanical aptitude is required
A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record
Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure
Must possess or obtain, within three months of employment, NFPA 1851 PPE Advanced Care and Cleaning Certification
Must be able to lift 30 lbs
Must be able to bend and stoop
