Director of Product Management
Our client is a rapidly growing retail and e-commerce brand seeking a Director of Product Management to lead and scale the product organization. This role involves overseeing multiple product teams, defining strategy, and delivering innovative consumer experiences across various digital platforms.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the product vision and roadmap across core digital commerce surfaces, including:
Product detail and listing pages (PDP/PLP)
Search & discovery
Cart & checkout
Mobile app experiences
Align product strategy with business goals and customer needs, translating insights into actionable initiatives
Set priorities and resource allocation for multiple product teams, balancing innovation, growth, and operational excellence
Oversee AI-powered personalization initiatives, such as:
Dynamic recommendations and search relevance
Intelligent merchandising & promotions
Automated content generation and storytelling
Partner with Data Science and Engineering to define model requirements, integration, experimentation, and success metrics
Drive initiatives that unify digital and physical shopping experiences, including:
Buy Online, Pick Up In Store (BOPIS)
Ship-from-store fulfillment
Real-time inventory & loyalty program integration
Collaborate with Retail Operations and Merchandising to ensure seamless execution in-store and online
Lead product teams to define requirements, write clear user stories, and prioritize backlogs
Promote a culture of experimentation, A/B testing, and rapid iteration to validate hypotheses and optimize performance
Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure feature impact and inform decision-making
Partner with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Data Science, and Retail Operations to deliver cohesive, customer-focused products
Mentor and develop product managers, building a high-performing product organization
Communicate strategy, roadmaps, and outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
8+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years leading product teams
Proven experience in e-commerce, retail technology, marketplaces, or consumer digital products
Strong technical fluency — APIs, microservices, ML/AI concepts, data platforms
Hands-on experience with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and analytics-driven product decisions
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple product initiatives end-to-end with measurable impact (CVR, AOV, retention, LTV)
Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills
Experience in high-growth or scale-up environments (~500–2,000 employees) preferred
Bachelor's in business, engineering, computer science, or related field; MBA or technical degree is a plus
