(E3) Long Range Planning Intern

City of College Station is seeking a Long Range Planning Intern to assist with a variety of planning and development projects. The intern will gain hands-on experience implementing the City’s Comprehensive Plan and supporting public engagement efforts.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Assist with the implementation and tracking of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, small area plans, and other long-range planning initiatives
Participate in the preparation of planning-related reports, studies, research projects, and presentations, including data analysis and visualization
Support public engagement and outreach efforts, including facilitating meetings, workshops, and virtual engagement opportunities to promote education and awareness about urban planning and community development
Provide information and guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding city planning policies, growth trends, and development initiatives
Collaborate with city staff on planning projects, contributing research, recommendations, and support for project deliverables
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in urban planning, urban design, architecture, or a related field
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
Ability to comprehend and apply multiple ordinances, policies, and planning regulations
Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all public and professional interactions

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in urban planning, urban design, architecture, or a related field
Familiarity with municipal planning processes, GIS software, or urban design tools
Experience or coursework in public engagement, community development, or project research
